From the desk of Amy Johnson...
Travel wasn't my first career, but it's always been a love of mine. I still recall many details of my first road trip to a magical place called Walt Disney World at the ripe age of 7. Growing up, my family did its fair share of the typical "family vacations." As we got older, the destinations became a little more exotic partly due to the fact that my parents owned a business and earned incentive travel vacations. By the time I graduated college, the travel bug had bit. However, it was many years later and positions in a entirely different profession before I entered the travel business. I have been an independent travel professional for nine years now and haven't looked back. The skills and experience I acquired from my past position as a clinical instructor at Marquette University (also my Alma Mater) are put to good use in my role as a travel counselor. It's not an easy business, but I can honestly say that I enjoy the excitement of helping plan someone else's vacation as I would my own. And, when my clients return from their trips and can't wait to tell me about their experiences, that's just the proverbial icing on the cake! I hope that I'll be able to share the excitement of planning your vacation soon...

I'm so excited to be a part of the A Room With A View Travel team! My love of travel began from driving vacations as a child with my brother and parents to visit our various relatives in the eastern part of the U.S., to trips to Europe as a teen to visit family in Greece. Over the years, I have traveled to Ireland, France, Monaco, England, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Mexico, Canada and throughout the U.S. I have enjoyed some exciting and adventurous travels with my husband and more recently with our kids (2 teens and an elementary school child - all boys!). Providing excellent customer service is very important to me and I look forward to helping you plan the perfect vacation.

I have worked in travel agencies for the past 30 years, and am pleased to join the team at A Room With A View Travel as an independent travel consultant. Finding the right vacation to meet each individual’s dreams is what I love to do best. I am totally mobile and have flexible hours to match your needs. Having traveled extensively, I feel I have a lot of first hand knowledge to share with my clients. Whether it’s cruising the Mediterranean, parasailing over Acapulco Bay, ziplining in the Riviera Maya, climbing Mayan and Aztec ruins, sitting on top of an elephant in Thailand, waving to the Pope in Italy, snorkeling in Hawaii or bargaining for painted tiles in Greece, I try to experience everything so I can advise my travelers firsthand. I’ve also done many hotel and cruise ship inspections leading me to have my Master Cruise Counselor degree, Jamaica Specialist, Mexico Specialist, Aruba Specialist, Disney College of Knowledge degree, Sandals Certified Specialist , AMResorts Master, Marriott Excellence, Puerto Vallarta Specialist, Mazatlan Mazter, and much more.
Travel groups of all kinds are also a special joy. From destination weddings, to “girls” just wanting to have fun, I’ve done many groups with fun stories to tell. My last small group was my DIVAS (Dames Internationally Vacationing Are Spectacular) journey to Venice and cruising to Bari, Rhodes-Greece, Izmir-Turkey, Athens-Greece, Olympia-Greece, and Dubrovnik-Croatia.
